As we come to the end of this School golfing year it is appropriate to recognize some of the major achievements. Adam Chester, Morcambe School , Ian Stirling, Turton School , Oliver Hart, Myerscough College, Bethany Garton, Baines School qualified at Whitley Bay GC for the English Schools Final at John O’ Gaunt GC and Adam and Ian made the English School team that will play the Internationals against Wales and Scotland.They follow in the footsteps of excellent players that you can see on other pages.

Congratulations to our former players Tommy Fleetwood, Mathew Nixon and Jack Senior who played in the winning men’s Home International team this year and especially Tommy who won the Amateur Championship and was recently No 1 in the world. We must not forget the brilliant victory of Kelly Tidy in winning the British Ladies Championship at Ganton GC and Brogan Townend winning the Lancashire Girls’ Championship.
Sean Towndrow who made the English Schools’ team last year won the Lancashire Championship at Hesketh GC and has been picked in the team to contest the English Counties Championship Final.

Lancaster Royal GS who were runners up in the Winter Knock Out won the English Golf Union School Teams Championship at Came Down GC.

Our Champions this year are Harry Hulme Manchester GS with 71 and Lucie Walker Winstanley College with73 at Ormskirk GC. Paul Kinnear Maghull HS 73 and Lucinda Burdett St Mary’s Crosby 80 were the runners up followed by James Bolton, Elton HS, Adam Stone Lancaster RGS and Bradley Cummings Crompton House all with 73. George Scott Culcheth HS, won the nett (75-7=68) followed by Bradley Cummings (73-5=68) and Ateeb Khan Manchester GS 79-11=68. The girls nett was won by Danielle Monaghan St Mary’s Astley 82-14=68 with Annabelle Crompton Bolton School runner up 98-27=71.

The Under 16 Champions are Adam Stone Lancaster RGS 71 and Danielle Monaghan St Mary’s Astley 78. Jack Bottomley Cliffe Crompton House was runner up with 72 and Dominic Kadic Wilton Park HS was 3rd with 78. Amelia Taylor Tottington HS was the Girls runner up with 84.Kieran Cox Lytham HS had the best nett 91-28=63 followed by Kieran Hindle Montgomery HS 95-28=67 and Lewis Hodge Lytham HS 83-16=67. The Girls best nett was won by Alicia Stebbings Westholme 96-28=68 and the runner up was Emily Howarth also Westholme with 103-33=74.
